Ruben is one of the most brilliant professional poker players of Team PokerStars Netherlands. The Amsterdam native is an avid sports enthusiast. He loves to engage in snowboarding, tennis, and of course football. Ruben actually did not realize that he would be playing professional poker, until he invested the $100 that he received on his birthday in PokerStars.com. Soon, Ruben became obsessed with the game and took the game to a higher level. After he gained sufficient experience in playing online poker, Ruben ruben visserproceeded to compete in live tournaments as well.

Ruben instantly won his first tournament warmup which was the PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up, which was held in May 2008. He beat all competitors and came out on top with a prize of $112,945. After a few months, Ruben moved on to compete in his second tournament which was the PokerStars Sunday Million. He captured 4th place and came home with a prize of $77,301. In September 2008, Ruben shone again as he won the PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker $320 No-Limit Hold’em. He gathered a huge amount of $135,687. Ruben continued to play excellent poker in 2009. He participated in the PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker $3,150 No Limit Hold’em and made a great 6th place finish. He also earned an amount of $126,000. In June of the same year, Ruben participated in the World Poker Tour Spanish Championship €5,000 Main Event. He finished 11th place and won $18,737, Ruben had yet another taste of victory when he participated in the World Poker Tour Championship €400 No Limit Hold’em. He made an amazing 1st place run and won $16,729.
