Joep van den Bijgaart
Joep van den Bijgaart is one of the newest professional poker players of Team PokerStars Netherlands. Before Joep became a full-time poker player, he was pursuing a degree in Facilities Management. Somewhere along the way, Joep became interested in bankroll management. His discovery of poker was just in time and made him obsessed about the popular card game. He invested money in playing online and eventually, it paid off.
In 2008, Joep participated in his first major tournament which was the PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up held in October. He was able to make a great performance and won a satisfying amount of $23,250. In the following year, Joep played in one of the most prestigious tournaments which was the European Poker Tour Deauville. He competed in the €5,000 No Limit Hold’em Main Event and secured a 34th place finish. He managed to earn $14,321. Joep played in another tournament of the same month which was the Dom Classics. He competed in the €300 Limit Hold’em event and secured a 2nd place finish. He collected $10,066 in that event. Joep played in a third tournament which was the PokerStars Sunday 500. He placed 2nd place once again and obtained a generous amount of $69,234. After a couple of months, Joep played in his first World Series of Poker tournament. He competed in the $1,500 Limit Hold’em Shootout. He finished the tournament in 7th place and won $18,136.
Aside from playing poker, Joep is a simple guy who has great passion for football. He loves watching football matches and considers it very exciting. Joep also loves to write about poker. In fact he writes poker-related articles for different websites. Joep continues to play poker in an effort to improve his game more and to succeed and win one of the most desirable trophies which is the World Series of Poker bracelet.
