Discarding and drawing of cards depends though on the house, the dealer usually determines the number of cards to be discarded and the number of cards to be drawn in exchange. In the showdown, the first half of the pot will be awarded to a the highest-ranking hand while a player qualifying to a lowest hand wins the other half of the pot. Again, players may opt to use the same cards to form their high and low hand. Straights and flushes does not have any effect on the value of any low hand and remember, a hand with a card higher than 8 does not qualify for a low hand, it should always be lower than eight unless the management has specified rules about it.

Seven-card stud can be played as high only or as high-low, which means that the pot is divided into two not only for the winning high hand but also for the lowest winning hand.

While this may not apply to everyone, especially the beginners, reckless betters, impulsive players or the Timid Toms, it is the perfect game for more advanced skillful poker players. Just like a mighty sword, no-limit Hold’em can be the ultimate weapon for those who know how to wield it. A player can perform massive bluffs in order to increase the pot value or intimidate all the other players into folding. He can use psychological strategies such as an exposed bluff in order to get another player’s entire pot! The possibilities are quite endless, and so is the cash flow!

Zanetti Stud is easy to learn but requires some patience when you are playing the game. With practice, you will be able to incorporate strategies that will help you win the game. The game begins with the dealer handing three cards to each player. Each player receives two hole cards and one upcard. After each of the players have been handed their respective cards, an initial betting round comes.After the initial betting round, the dealer hands two upcards. After each of the players have been handed their respective cards, a second betting round comes. The players place their respective bets and prepare to receive their last cards. After each have been handed their last cards, the final betting round proceeds where the players begin to formulate their strategies for the showdown. Zanetti Stud is not so complicated after all. It all boils down to strategy, where the players need to come up with winning combinations for the four upcards and one hole card. Zanetti Stud is fun to learn and worth playing.

Alligator Stud is a variation of Six-card Stud. It is easy to learn the rules of this game. At the beginning of the game, one hole card and one upcard is dealt. The players receive their cards and a betting round comes after. This is the initial betting round of the game. The players place their bets just like in other poker games. After the betting round, each player is given two upcards. At this point, the players have already received four upcards. The players receive their cards and proceed to the second betting round where the players place their bets. After everyone has placed their bets, A fifth upcard is given and third betting round comes after. After everyone has placed their bets, the players finally receive their last card. A final betting round comes after the players receive their last cards. This is the most crucial part of the game since everyone tries to make strategies for the showdown. Alligator Stud is really fun if you try playing it with friends. It is another exciting variation if you want to steer clear of common variations such as Texas Holdem. You won’t regret playing this game, and I guarantee that this will be a breath of fresh air.

Possessing at least a pair guarantees a possibility of obtaining the high hand. In case no one has been able to come up with at least a pair, the pot is scooped by the player possessing the low hand. One telltale sign that you have quite a good starting hand is when the suits of the two aces and the suits of the two other cards that you have are the same. This increases the chance of two flushes, which makes it a good hand. This does not mean, however, that you should play it at once – make sure you’ve got the best possible combination. For instance, if you have an A of hearts, an A of spades, a 2 of hearts and a 3 of spades, that is even better because you have the chance of two flushes showing up, and not only that, you also have the chance of a straight showing up as well, and it is a promising low hand. The thing about playing limit seven-card stud is that if, by the third street, you seem like you are going down a winning road with really good cards, or if by the third street you have bluffed and played your way into letting a lot of your opponents fold, then you are in good hands. Given that fact, you have to keep in mind a few things that will help you get to this stable point in the competition:

First you have to remember that you have to be patient. You are initially dealt three cards, two of which are not revealed to your opponents, and then a round of betting takes place for that round. Take advantage of it – get your opponents thinking that you have a very strong hand, but do not raise suspicion in overdoing the buildup of your hand. If you have a pretty decent hand, and somebody in the table raises, and you think you have a pretty good chance of winning, then call. Only raise when you are absolutely certain of how strong your initial hand is.

Second, you have to remember when to and not to play. The rule here is simple: play if you have a good hand, and fold if you don’t. There is no use building up a hand that has no clear chance or potential of winning – for instance, if you have three cards that are non-consecutive and are of different suits, then you might not want to bluff your way into that game.

Third, if you’ve got a good hand, don’t be afraid to raise. It is, after all, a limit game, and you won’t end up losing that much if your opponent sees that he is betting more than his hand is truly worth as compared with yours.

It’s all about discretion. In a limit game, you don’t have as much to lose as with the no-limit games, so make the most out of it in your next seven-card stud game.
